Terms of service
What Yarta does, what you do, and what a report is.
The plain-language terms behind a Yarta subscription. The signed customer agreement carries the detail; these terms say what it will and will not contain.
Version 0.1 · 29 September 2026
The service
Yarta, a Recycle Group initiative ("Yarta", "we"), provides an environmental sustainability reporting service to the organisation named in the customer agreement ("you"). The service is the Yarta Dashboard, the Yarta Report issued for each reporting period, the roadmap to improvement, the monthly fill-in-the-gaps email, CSV and PDF exports, and a named Yarta data operator, as described on this website at the time you sign.
What you do
- Send us the records for each period: bills, statements, contractor reports, weighbridge records, registers and invoices, by the date in the monthly email.
- Tell us when a record does not exist, so the category can be marked "not reported" rather than left open.
- Make sure you are entitled to give us each record, and that it is genuine and complete to the best of your knowledge.
- Keep your portal accounts to the people you have authorised.
What we do
- Enter every figure from the records you supply, attach an evidence reference and grade to each, and have the month verified by a second Yarta analyst before it is issued.
- Calculate scores, emissions, rates and benchmarks under the published Yarta Method, and state the method version and the benchmark edition on every report.
- Issue the Yarta Report for each reporting period and keep the dashboard current as your data arrives.
- Keep the evidence behind every figure so a report can be reproduced later.
- Introduce an accredited provider when you book a suggestion from the roadmap, if you want us to.
What a Yarta Report is, and is not
Read this part
- The Yindyamarra Score and every category score are self-declared under Yarta's own published method. They are not an accredited rating, a certification or third-party verification, and must not be described as one.
- Emissions figures are calculated with the published factors named in the method. Avoided emissions are an estimate, reported separately and never deducted from your inventory. A Yarta Report does not create or represent offsets or credits and does not support a carbon-neutral claim.
- "With Yarta help" and every projected score are estimates from published rules, not promises. The next report shows what actually changed.
- Industry benchmarks are published figures from named public sources. They are not derived from other Yarta customers.
- Yarta is designed to support third-party assurance with evidence, method and exports. It does not provide assurance, and does not certify compliance with any reporting standard. Where a figure sits in your inventory depends on your own reporting boundary.
- A report is only as complete as the records you send. A category with no data is marked "not reported" and left out of the score.
Providers you book
When you book a suggestion, Yarta introduces a provider who holds the licence or accreditation the work requires, or you use your own. The contract for the work is between you and the provider. Yarta is not a party to it, does not warrant the provider's work, and does not charge you for the introduction. Where a Recycle Group business does the work, the report says so.
Fees
- The subscription is annual, priced by the month, at the tier on the pricing page when you sign, and applies from the switch-on date.
- An establishment fee covers scoping, the baseline, the method sheet and onboarding. It is waived for Foundation Members who join in the first 12 months, and is never charged to a Foundation Member later.
- There is no charge per report, per site, per category or per export.
- The work a provider does is invoiced by the provider, not by Yarta.
- Fees are in Australian dollars and exclude GST unless stated.
Term and ending
The term, renewal and notice periods are set out in the customer agreement. When a subscription ends, you keep every report issued and can export your data for 90 days; after that we hold the reports and their evidence under the retention period in the privacy policy and then delete them.
Your data
Your figures, documents and reports are yours. You give Yarta a licence to use them to provide the service. We do not share them with any other organisation, pool them with other customers' data, sell them, or use them for any other purpose. The privacy policy is part of these terms.
Using the report
You may publish a Yarta Report as issued, quote its figures with the method version, and hand it to an auditor, a council meeting, a tender panel or a customer. Please do not alter a report and present it as Yarta's, and do not describe the score as accredited, certified or verified by a third party.
Method changes
The Yarta Method is versioned. When it changes, every report states the version it was calculated under, and earlier reports are not restated unless you ask. Foundation Members are consulted before a method change is published.
Liability
Yarta takes care to enter, verify and calculate accurately, and corrects any error we make in a report at no charge as soon as it is found. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, Yarta's liability under the agreement is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and Yarta is not liable for decisions you or others make on the basis of a report, or for the work of a provider you engage. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Contact
These terms are issued at version 0.1 ahead of the first customer agreement and are under legal review. The signed customer agreement prevails where the two differ.
